Yoga Instructor

After being overweight her entire life, Shaina lost 70 lbs by herself, at home. This launched her through some physical and mental barriers. She wanted to pay this forward to everyone she could. Throughout her twenties, she made it her mission to work her way into the fitness industry. Achieving multiple gyms’ and instructors’ certifications throughout New England, Shaina developed the tools and began coaching people through their fitness journey, so they would not have to endure it on their own.

During that time she also received her Black Belt and Sensei title in Kensho-Ryu Karate. She then worked for fitness celebrity Chalene Johnson as one of her Area Promotion Directors and Presenters, and became a Beachbody Live Master Trainer. Shaina has also gone through multiple fitness certifications including Antigravity Fitness, TRX, Kettlebell, ACE, AFAA, NASM, and specialty companies  to keep learning about her passion: movement and creating an atmosphere for people to enjoy movement.

It was when she started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that she realized Yoga was a huge missing link physically and mentally. She decided to enroll and complete her 200hr Yoga teacher training and began teaching immediately.

“I never wanted to ‘slow down’ to have to practice yoga, but after I took my first class I realized that yoga was not slow… at all… and it was really hard! But I was curious. And it was what I was missing and my students were missing.”

“I want my teaching to help practitioners feel comfortable in their own space, for whatever that means to them. I want them to gain knowledge of mobility and every day movements, so they can keep their vitality. I invite them to be curious and have no judgement on their practice/body. And I like to throw in corny jokes so it’s not so serious. We always start our practices with simple gratitude to just be able to come to our Mats and Move. I think that’s important to remember. My teaching style is what I’ve acquired from the amazing teachers I’ve had and I’m grateful for them. I invite students to Come As You Are , and that’s all you need.”
